Eat, Sleep, Mountain Bike Oregon: Riding singletrack in Oakridge, Ore. | Events
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Some of the best mountain biking in the country is right outside our back door in Oakridge.
And twice a summer hundreds of people from all over the country and as far away as Australia spend three nights camping in a highway rest area to ride it. The occasion: Mountain Bike Oregon, a three day festival that includes meals, camping, shuttle rides to trails, demo bikes, and even a makeshift beer garden featuring Oregon's finest brews on tap.

Riders refer to the event as a Mountain Biker's Woodstock. Festival founder Randy Dreiling started the event to feature the hundreds of miles of singletrack that Oakridge has to offer in the surrounding Willamette National Forest. It's part of an effort to promote the former logging town's new image as a destination for outdoor recreation.
"There are miles of amazing single track. It’s right up there with places like Moab, Crested Butte and Park City,” says Abbey Hippely of Santa Cruz Bicycles. Riders and industry representatives agree: Oakridge has quietly developed a reputation as a premier mountain biking destination.
